Faith Recovery Introduction

What is the Faith Recovery Ministry?

Faith Recovery is a faith based addictions program that helps struggling people gain victory over addictions or stubborn habits in their lives.

When and Where do we Meet?

Our group meets every Wednesday evening from 7:00pm to 8:15pm at Faith Baptist Church located at 3860 E. Main Street in Danville, Indiana. We are excited to provide a ministry created especially for those who have been hurt, those who struggle with an addiction, and those who want to help a loved one who struggles with addictions. Call the church at (317) 272-4632 or email contact@faithrecovery.net for more details or if you should need transportation. Nursery, Children’s and Teen programs are provided for you children free of charge.

Who Should Attend?

The Program is open to anyone who is currently battling with an addiction or stubborn habit. The first step towards recovery is admitting that there's a problem. If you're struggling with a drug, alcohol or other addiction, we’re here to help. We’ll teach you simple Biblical principles that lead to lasting victory and freedom. Jesus said, “Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free,” (John 8:32). Come and discover the freedom that leads to a life filled with peace, joy, and a stronger personal relationship with Jesus Christ and others.

How Much Does it Cost?

There are nominal fees for curriculum materials, but no fees for attending the program. We feel this erases one of the biggest objections people have to treatment. We believe that the church is God’s support group. It is designed by God to meet the spiritual needs of all people. When the spiritual needs of people are met, then other needs fall in line and become easier to manage. We strongly encourage you to visit Faith Baptist Church. We hope you’ll see that there is something different about this church.

How Does it Work?

Faith Recovery was developed to help anyone who desires to experience a life of victory over difficulty. This victory is obtained and retained not through an experience of ongoing effort, but through a once in a lifetime decision to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and a subsequent dedication to developing a dynamic love relationship with Him.

The Twelve Truths

I must trust God more than self.

(Prov. 3:5-7, 26:12, 28:25-26, Ps. 37:3-5)

What happened in my past, isn’t what has to happen in my future.

(John 8:32, Rom. 6:16-18, I Cor. 6:11)

Falling down is not fatal. Staying down is.

(Prov. 24:16, Ps. 37:23-24).

God loves me, even when I don’t love myself.

(Rom. 5:8, I John 4:8-10).

My heart will lie to me about my addiction.

(Jer. 17:9, Prov. 28:26, James 1:14-15)

I can’t run with bad people and expect good results.

(Prov. 27:17, Ps. 101:3-4, Eph. 5:11)

Nothing in my life will change, until I change some things in my life!

(Eph. 4:22-24, Rom. 6:1-14, Isa. 1:18-20)

Honest truth leads to lasting change.

(I John 1:8-10, Col. 3:9)

Personal recovery depends on accepting personal responsibility.

(Ps. 32:5, 51:3, Gal. 6:7-9)

I must seek forgiveness from others and show forgiveness to others.

(Matt. 6:14-15, Eph 4:31-32, Col. 3:13)

The weapons I use will determine the victories I win.

(II Cor. 10:3-5, I Cor. 10:13)

Believing it is not living it. Saying it is not doing it.

(I John 2:3-6, 15-17)
